CASE STUDY: MODERN STEMS
I created this app as a part of my Google UX course. I decided to create a florist app that would provide additional filters and options to customers, as I saw a gap in the market.
Project: Google UX Course
Role: UX designer
Software: Adobe XD, Google Docs
Problem
This app will allow people to send flowers to their loved ones while having more eco-friendly packaging and more filters to find the right bouquet. It will allow users autonomy over the design of the bouquets so they feel they are good value for money while creating a unique flower arrangement.
Challenges
To create a website that works with all major florist and local ones
To create an eye-catching website that is easy to use.
To allow customers to build their own bouquets.
To work with local artists to offer unique vases
Competitive Analysis
The three main floral websites are ProFlowers, FTD and 1800flowers. They are all very similar and do their job, but all of the arrangements look the same, the pricing is not competitive and often has hidden fees. There is not enough filters to go by color, smell or season. They all promote non paper options that are not great for the environment.
Solution
To create an website and app where there are:
Expanded filters including pollen markers and smell level
Detailed flower profiles, videos and photos
Alternative packaging options that are eco-friendly and support local artists
Photos of finished bouquet sent to clients so they can see what the recipient is given
Tracking for clients to follow their delivery
Options to build their own bouquet, pick flowers, stems and packaging
